چکیده
Abstract In 1909 Borel defined normality as a notion of randomness the digits representation real number over certain base (fractional expansion). If we think an infinite sequence symbols from finite alphabet A , can define directly for words : word x is normal to if every block appears with same asymptotic frequency in other length. Many examples have been found since its definition, being Champernowne 1933 first show explicit and simple instance. Moreover, it has characterized how select subsequences preserving normality, always leaving fixed. this work consider dual problem which consists inserting infinitely many positions given word, such way that preserved. Specifically, symbol b not present original solve insert resulting expanded ∪ { }.

From Randomness to Order
A major achievement of the Nobel prize winning economist Thomas Schelling was an elegant model of racial segregation, first described in 1969. In this model, one starts with a random arrangement of two types of objects (in one or two dimensions) and initiates a stochastic process which rearranges the objects according to some rules, which induce a probabilistic (nondeterministic) process. The a...

I review some selected situations in which order builds up from randomness, or a losing trend turns into winning. Except for Section 4 (which is mine), all cases are well documented and the price paid to achieve order is apparent.

متن کاملFrom randomness to order: unperturbed Schelling segregation in two or three dimensions
Schelling’s model of segregation, first described in 1969 [17], has become one of the best known models of self-organising behaviour. While Schelling’s explicit concern was to understand the mechanisms underlying racial segregation in large cities from a game theoretic perspective, the model should be seen as one of a family, arising in fields as diverse as statistical mechanics, neural network...
متن کاملFrom Algorithmic to Subjective Randomness
We explore the phenomena of subjective randomness as a case study in understanding how people discover structure embedded in noise. We present a rational account of randomness perception based on the statistical problem of model selection: given a stimulus, inferring whether the process that generated it was random or regular. Inspired by the mathematical definition of randomness given by Kolmo...
